Brake Rotors Galfer Performance Motorcycle Braking Systems. The Wave© brake rotor design was invented by Galfer in the early 90s as a solution to water and mud on brake rotor surfaces of trial competition motorcycles. As we developed the design, we discovered an added benefit: the brake system was running cooler. After resurfacing the rotors, be sure to wash with warm, soapy water to prevent brake noise. I know it’s an extra step and brake clean works just as well — so you think! Try this: resurface a rotor, blast it with brake clean and wipe with a clean paper towel, repeat again and one more time. EBC Pro-Lite floating rotors are complete bolt-on and go rotor assemblies made with forged aluminum center hubs, high friction billet steel rotor rings and sturdy riveted construction. Jun 02, 2016 · Fortunately the fix is simple. Before you condemn the rotor, make sure the buttons move freely. If they don’t, remove the brake rotor from the wheel. On the backside of the button will be an e-clip, and most likely a spring/shim. Remove the clip and shim, and the button should pop right out. You can clean them up with a wire brush or sandpaper.
90% of rotors branded as floating types are actually simply a two piece rotor where the outer rotor ring is riveted to a central hub by circular mass produced rivets. A rotor made with circular rivets does not float at all because the tolerances (differences in PCD – pitch circle diameter of the inner and outer components) would need to be so large that the rotor would rattle and shake from day one.

Wilwood Disc Brakes produces over 120 different rotor styles and diameters for street, racing and other high performance applications in standard, slotted and drilled and slotted styles. Rotors are made of high-grade steel, iron and carbon ceramic composites. New rotors are coated with an oil to make sure there is no rusting while they are packaged, shipped, and stored on shelves prior to being installed on a car. It is proper to clean off the oil during the installation of the rotors on the car. That way there is no oil on the rotors that could get on the pads. Jun 30, 2017 · Rotor was already bedded in.
